- A lot of physical and mental changes have taken place to get me to this point in the "race".
- My form looks very different - i.e. bad My pregnancy term is 'woggling' - a cross between jogging and waddling!
- I have given up on any time goals.
- 3 miles seems to take FOREVER!
- I can't think big picture anymore, I have to take it one mile at a time and sometimes one step at a time.
- Any step could result in loss of bladder control...
- I no longer care if I lose control of my bladder ... finishing the race/run is more important.
- Some people I run by are cheering me on ... and others seem to be looking at me like I'm crazy!
- I feel like I am running in one of my dreams where I am trying so hard to go faster, but my body just can't do it (I have a lot of dreams like this).
- I watch people pass me and my body won't allow me to put up a fight.
- No matter how slow I have to run, it still feels easier/better than walking.
- I stop running as soon as I cross the finish line/make it to the driveway. There is no cool down, stretching or strengthening happening.
- I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I finish.
- I need to eat a lot post race/run to replenish my energy stores...
- I eat WHATEVER I feel like!
- It is extremely difficult to get pants on/off.
- As soon as I have recovered, I can't wait to do it again! But ..
- I know in both cases, once I 'cross the finish line' I will be forced to take time off from running until my body fully recovers.
A look into the embarrassing, funny, humbling, awkward and rewarding experiences unique to runners.

Running to the end...
