...for Park and Rec bathrooms to be open again! This is a very exciting occurrence in my running world. On a recent run by Airport Park, I was about to enter the Port-o-Potty when a nice grounds keeper pointed me towards the newly opened bathrooms - score! Then, earlier this week, I had the pleasure of Christening the bathrooms at the Campground near BHS and at Waterfront Park.
Don't get me wrong, a Port-o-Potty is often a very exciting sight. Lately, I have been lucky enough to spot random Port-o-Potties at just the right moment - someone is looking out for me (or looking out for my running partners)! I see the newly opened bathrooms as increasing the total number of available pit stops along my running routes - making sure I am never too far away from one! Without these numerous stops around the city (including such places as the Cumberland Farms convenience store, the public library, Price Chopper), I would be subjected to laps around my neighborhood. Unfortunately, some days do come down to that - and luckily I have a lovely neighborhood to do short, fast intervals around. If I start getting a lot faster, I will have my crappy GI system to thank!
I warned you that I would be revisiting this topic. And, I have a sneaky suspicion it will come up again in the next few weeks as I prepare for VCM ...
Happy spring running!
