I can't name all the Kardashians, or even tell you how many there are, but I can name many of the 185 women and 147 men running in the Olympic Trials ... and all of their stats, strengths, weaknesses, and probably even the name of their first born! While many of my friends are reading US Weekly, I am reading Running Times, and while they are watching Gossip Girl, I am watching a track meet on DVR. When I recently joined Twitter, it told me I had to choose 5 people to follow to get started...hmmm...Shalane Flanagan, Kara Goucher, Ryan Hall, Joan Benoit-Samuelson (and my Boston blogging buddy, Martin Potter). So, as a girl with a running blog, I could not let this day pass without posting about my excitement!
I ran against - or should I say behind Shalane in high school and I have been stalking her ever since. She is my pick to take the women's race. If there was a line in Vegas for this event, I would put a lot of money on her. Ryan Hall is now letting his faith guide and coach him and should be the men's champion...And as long as I am making predictions, I don't think that faith will guide Tebow past the Patriots! What a great day of sports - I get to watch my idols at 3:00 and my heartthrob (Tom) at 8:00. What more could a girl want out of a Saturday?!?!
Enjoy the race and Go Pats!
P.S. A special shout out to fellow Vermonter Kasie Enman for a great race!
Shalane and Goucher in the top 3! You must be excited!
